We have purchased a DV-Dongel to be used by the community at no charge via the Internet. Testing is about half way completed. The idea is to let local hams enjoy some of the D-Star network features before purchasing a radio.

Are you a licensed amateur radio operator in the NYC area in need of help using D-Star? We don't claim to be experts (this is Ham Radio after all), but we might be able to help! Just use the "Contact Us" form on the right side to get in touch!

The WG2MSK repeater is an open linking system. You may be asking yourself what this means.
At the time this article was written, there are no other D-Star machines in the area that allow you to choose which D-Plus reflector to participate in.

Yes, we are starting the planning of a MotoTRBO system.
This would be in ADDITION to the D-Star machine. They are vastly different, each has their positives and negatives.
For example, the NI-Star (D-Star compatible) system cost under $1,000 using all NEW components, It looks like the MotoTRBO system will cost $2,250 using a mix of new and used equipment. We should have a working demo in time for HRU.
